Android Tech Talk is back!

Long time no see, right? But, like Arnold Schwarzenegger, we are back! New presentations. A good old fridge full of your favorite beverages and hot pizza. Sound like a good plan for Tuesday afternoon?

👨‍🏫 18.00 – White-label projects. How to approach modularisation? by Filip Misztal

I plan to take a retrospective look (almost 10 years in scope!) at modularizing a white-label project. From the “Good” old approach (from the times when Gradle was called the “New build system”) to the present and project that we are working on with the team. Concluded with learnings and ups and downs and desired state of our current approach.”

👨‍🏫 18.45 – Kotlin Shared Flow or How I learned to stop using RxJava and love the Flow by Aleksandra Krzemień

Not so long ago RxJava was a state-of-the-art approach to handling streams of data, and in many mobile apps dealing with asynchronous operations. Almost four years ago, when coroutines were introduced, many forecasted that it was the end of RxJava for Kotlin users. Yet, many of us kept using it, and I was pretty sure that RxJava would stay with us for a while. Then Kotlin Flow entered, all dressed in white. And I stopped being so sure.”

NEW 👨‍🏫 19:20 – How’s life in the Compose-only world by Svyatoslav Lebetsky
12 months ago my company has tasked me with picking the toolchain for our new production app. Despite it not being widely adopted yet at that point, I decided to make a bet on Jetpack Compose. Join me for my talk where I will guide you through my Compose journey, share some tips & tricks, and talked about things that surprised me.

As always after each part, we will have 💬 Q&A session. Pizza 🍕 craft beers 🍺 prosecco🥂

The meetup will take place on the 20th of September (Tuesday) in our office in Kraków (Pawia 23). Please note that the number of places is limited and the event will be held in English. We’re looking forward to meeting you!
