The team you’ll be joining has strong foundations, with a core group already in place and making significant strides in AI innovation. We’re now looking to welcome new team members, particularly those with Data Engineering expertise, to further enhance our capabilities. The team focuses on two main objectives: driving AI innovation across Schibsted Marketplaces’ business verticals and experimenting with a more radical approach to AI in product development. You’ll contribute to cutting-edge AI solutions while helping to strengthen and scale the existing platforms.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an AI/Data Engineer, your role will be to develop innovative AI solutions that can reshape how we use data and technology across Schibsted’s platforms. You’ll also be responsible for enhancing existing AI featuresimproving scalability, and integrating new capabilities into current systems. This position offers the chance to explore and implement pioneering AI technologies, while also ensuring the robustness of ongoing AI-powered functionalities. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and product owners, to deliver data-driven solutions that solve real business challenges. The technologies you’ll primarily use include Typescript, Python, cloud platforms like AWS or GCP, and MLOps frameworks to streamline the AI lifecycle.

ABOUT YOU

  • Thorough knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts, with practical experience using relevant frameworks and tools.
  • Curious and experienced in utilizing AI tools like GitHub, Copilot and ChatGPT to automate and enhance development processes. You should be comfortable leveraging these technologies to streamline coding tasks, improve productivity, and drive innovation in the development workflow.
  • Extensive experience in full-stack development, with a particular focus on AI technologies.
  • Well versed in Python, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Node.js, along with proficiency in version control tools like Git.
  • Familiarity with NLP techniques and libraries such as NLTK, spaCy, and Hugging Face Transformers for processing text data.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, leveraging their AI and machine learning services.
  • Strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines and MLOps practices for seamless AI model integration, continuous delivery, and deployment.
  • Capable of working independently, contributing new ideas and perspectives to the team.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and Polish.

We’re excited to be launching a brand new IT & Security unit at Schibsted Tech Polska, following the split of Schibsted into two Nordic powerhouses – a major media house and a dynamic marketplace leader. Our mission is to establish a lean, proactive, data-driven team that plays a strategic role in supporting the business in Poland while maintaining close and direct communication with our parent organizations. This new, streamlined unit will be at the forefront of driving digital transformation, delivering high-quality, cost-effective services, and enhancing our operational efficiency. With a strong focus on product, service delivery and cybersecurity, we’re looking for skilled professionals to join us in shaping this dynamic and forward-thinking department.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently seeking an experienced Head of IT & Security to help build and take ownership of the new organization. This pivotal role, located in either Gdańsk or Kraków and reporting to the Business Development and IT Director, will be instrumental in our transformation, adding a fresh perspective to our operations. Its key purpose will be to establish an independent IT unit supporting our Polish business operations and leading IT service delivery expert team of up to 6-7 IT professionals.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with key stakeholders across the organization (Poland and the Nordics) to analyze requirements and develop tailored IT solutions.

Project Leadership: Lead IT projects, including procurement and integration of new IT systems and services.

Strategic Direction: Provide strategic guidance to manage risks and align IT operations with business goals.

Oversee IT Infrastructure & Security: Lead and manage all aspects of IT & Security infrastructure, systems, and services.

Vendor Management: Maintain communication with vendors and evaluate hardware and software solutions.

 

ABOUT YOU:

Leadership Experience: 5+ years in a senior IT leadership role, managing complex IT environments and leading IT teams.

Strategic Alignment: Proven ability to develop and implement IT strategies that correspond with business objectives and drive organizational success.

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge across IT disciplines, including infrastructure, security, networking, and systems administration.

Business communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, along with fluency in English.


Infrastructure Management: Proficiency in managing IT infrastructure, including networks, servers (physical and virtual), storage systems, and cloud environments.

Cybersecurity Expertise: Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and technologies to protect company assets and data.

Operations Management: Strong background in IT operations management, including service desk operations, incident management, problem management, and change management.

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
