We’re looking for JS Fullstack Developer with a passion for AWS to join our special task force team: SEALs and work with 12 cross-technology skilled developers.

The team is involved in multiple projects at the same time being the expert team for Schibsted Media Group. In our daily work we develop news apps as well as small Scandinavian startups that belong to Schibsted e.g. dating apps, e-learning platforms, comparison engines and many more.

The projects in SEALs varies a lot. In some projects the team helps with UX or building the first prototypes of a product. Sometimes we just test business ideas. Other times the team takes on the full projects. Currently, the team is involved with 6 different software development projects.

The biggest project is Aftenposten Junior Skole, a platform to encourage school children to produce and consume content. A project is being developed from start to end, including contributing our ideas for how the result can be as good as possible.

Now that we told you a bit more about the team, can you see yourself working with us? 

Most of our projects are configured with CI/CD Travis+Docker+AWS+Convox – we are looking for someone who loves to polish those configurations. We would like you to be our go-to person with questions like when using Lambdas are fine, our Security Groups are not secure or when Kubernetes is overkill. Other than that you will be just working with fancy modern JS stacks: React + Node (Frontend/Backend).

You are comfortable with the setup listed below:

  • AWS services
  • Docker/Kubernetes
  • CI/CD (eg. Travis, CircleCI)
  • Modern JavaScript frameworks eg. React, Next.js
  • Node.js

It is an advantage if you have some experience with any of [not prioritized order]:

  • Convox
  • Terraform
  • Typescript
  • Redux, RxJS, other state management system
  • WordPress
  • web security

Team fit interview

Have a chance to meet the Product or Engineering Manager you will be working with. During this step we'll focus mostly on soft topics - your work style, approach to software development and other.
